A bot fly doesn’t bite or sting. Instead, the female’s butt shooter (aka an ovipositor) pings the eggs into position with a tiny dab of adhesive. This adhesive is STRONG… and if you’ve ever tried to remove the eggs, this won’t be news to you.

Anyhoo, the adhesive that attaches the egg is hydrophobic and protein-based and the best way to weaken that bond is with a combination of penetrating oil, acid, solvent and emulsifiers.

And ta-da! That’s where Bot Bouncer comes in.

The idea is not to keep the bot flies away – but to provide an inhospitable, slippery environment for laying AND to weaken that adhesive.
